To turn off subtitles on a Roku TV, try these methods:

Method 1: Through Settings Menu
Press the Home button on your Roku remote.
Scroll and select Settings.

Choose Accessibility (or Captions on older models).
Select Captions Mode and choose Off.

Method 2: During Playback
While watching a show, press the Star (*) button on your Roku remote.
Navigate to Closed Captioning or Captions in the pop-up menu.
Select Off.
