Finding morel mushrooms can be difficult for some people of they don't know these simple tips. I will take you on a morel mushroom hunt. I will show you how I find them and why they are in the areas where I find them. I will show you how to find good morel habitat and which ones I avoid. I have been hunting morels as long as I can remember. My Mom started taking me into the woods to look for them from an age when I was too young to remember the first time. Later on my Dad got more into looking for them and I would go with him too.

We will get into the science of where they grow any why they grow there. Which habitats support morels and why. How to find those good habitats and how to avoid wasting time in areas not likely suited to morels.

Morel mushrooms are my favorite mushroom to eat. It is important to cook them thoroughly. They are poisonous but the toxic chemical has a relatively low boiling point. It easily cooks out of them. When trying any wild mushroom for the first time, I think it's best to start with a small sample. Some people have allergic reactions to mushrooms. I think it's best to do a small test to make sure you don't have a negative reaction. But I am not a medical professional so don't listen to me, instead seek advice from a medical professional.
