Daniel 11:40-45 Is Putin The King Of The North?

I have been thinking about the time period we are in right now, as the Ukraine war has been going on for over a month, and if the Gog Magog war is going to happen in May, what needs to happen between now and then, and if so, are those events which would have to happen in the next 45 days, predicted somewhere in Bible prophecy?

When reading Daniel chapter 11 verses 40 to 45, I think I may have found something that alludes to this period of time we are in. It is the last 5 verses in chapter 11, and when we turn the page to chapter 12, we see that Chapter 12 is an exact match for Revelation 12, where Michael stands up, and there is a great war in Heaven, and Daniel 12 states that at this time there will be "a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time."

That is therefore the beginning of the tribulation in Daniel chapter 12, so if we go back to the events immediately preceding that, those last 5 verses in chapter 11 would seem to describe what would happen just before the tribulation starts.

Daniel chapter 11 verses 40 to 45:

“At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen,
and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through.

He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon.

He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels.

But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many.

And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him.

This prophecy from Daniel seems to match the one from Ezekiel in chapters 38 and 39, which describes an invasion of Israel, which Daniel calls the Glorious Land
(or Beautiful Land in some translations). Ezekiel also mentions Libya and Ethiopia as partners with Gog, the leader of Magog, and of course the Ezekiel invasion comes from the uttermost part of the north, which aligns with Daniel's description of the King of the North.

Could it be that Putin's Russian army will overwhelm not only Ukraine, but other countries to the south of Ukraine, and pass through them on the way through
Turkey to Syria to commence the prophesied Gog Magog invasion of Israel? Putin's mindset (or at least the one that he likes to project to his Russian audience),
is that he is a liberator, not only of Ukraine, but even more so a country like Turkey, which once was the seat of the eastern arm of the Roman Empire. The city of Istanbul in Turkey used to be called Constantinople, after Constantine, the first Christian emperor of Rome, who moved the seat of the Roman empire from Rome to Byzantium when Rome fell, after which the city was renamed to Constantinople.

So let me know what you think in the comments section. Do you believe that in the next month or so, Ukraine will be conquered, and Putin's army will move south through eastern Europe, perhaps with a large fleet of ships sailing south across the Black Sea from the ports on the southern coast of Ukraine towards the coast of Turkey?
