Build a hanging or standing wooden planter.
With this versatile DIY flowerbox you get to decide if you want it off the ground and mounted to a wall or balcony or standing on the ground. Either way, your plants will look fantastic in it.

Here's everything you'll need for this project:
Workbench
Measuring tape
Set square or carpenter's square
Pencil
2 one-hand clamps
Multi-sander with 150 grit sandpaper
Cordless screwdriver with bit inserts
Cordless drill with 4 and 6 bit wood drill bits
Wood stain and brush
Hand tacker
Scissors
10 mm open-end spanner
15 wooden slats for the bottom and the front and back: 50 cm x 10 mm x 46 mm (starting -length: 240 cm)
10 wooden slats for the two sides: 27 cm x 10 mm x 46 mm (starting length: 240 cm)
2 squared timbers on the inside of the sides at the bottom 27 cm x 23 mm x 23 mm
4 squared timbers vertically at the 4 corners (2 per corner) 26.5 cm x 19 mm x 40 mm
2 squared timbers vertically at the 4 corners (2 per corner) 24.5 cm x 19 mm x 40 mm
10 wood screws / Spax for the squared timbers on the inside of the sides at the bottom 3.5 x 30
8 wood screws / Spax for the screw connection of the two vertical squared timbers 4 x 50 mm
40 wood screws / Spax for the wooden slats at the front, back and both sides 3.5 x 25 mm
Pond foil 0.5 mm or other waterproof foil
Var A) If string suspension:
4 screw hooks 4 x 50 mm
coarse fixed cord in the desired length (depending on the suspension height)
Var B) If mobile:
4 castors (furniture castors) with plate 40 x 40 mm
16 wood screws / Spax for fastening the castors
2 squared timbers at the bottom of the floor on both sides 27 cm x 23 mm x 23 mm
4 squared timbers vertical in each corner of the box 27 cm x 23 mm x 40 mm
4 squared timbers also vertical (opposite side) in each corner of the box 25 cm x 23 mm x 40 mm
4 wood screws / Spax for fastening the squared timbers to the floor 3.5 x 30 mm
Var C) If parapet suspension:
4 metal angles / chair angles
4 hexagonal screws for fixing the angles to the flower box M6 x 50 mm
4 hexagonal screws to connect the 2 angles with one to another M6 x 20 mm
16 washers M6 x 12 mm
8 hexagon nuts M6 or wing nuts
Var D) with side handles:
4 furniture handles with matching screws
potting soil ca. 20 l
hand shovel for planting
